Turns out you CAN run from the truth

Hejsan vänner!  We started off this week hosting exchanges with the systers from Karlskrona. And it was SO much fun.  We: -went to Malmö and got a nice brunch  and some milkshakes  -celebrated Fettis Tisdag together by getting semlor at EspressoHouse  - Taught a lesson about the commandments to an old man  - went and talked to people on the street and QUITE LITERALLY had a girl about our same age SPRINT away from us. We said hi, she looked at our nametags, backed up slowly, and then split. That had never happened to me before. There's a first time for everything! This week we also: - had a hula night with all of the old women in the congregation as well as a couple of the young women. I'm embarrassed to say that I had hip soreness the next day.  - went street contacting, and I was feeling a little discouraged after I got stuck talking to a crazy guy for about 20 minutes. BUT THEN I went over and talked to a little old couple sitting on a bench on...

Otto Paid a Visit

Tjena!  This week, in all honesty, was a trial. It felt like every plan and every lesson we had fell through. It happens.  We did quite a bit of Facebook finding and contacting and such.  But among the dull, there were some huge miracles that we saw: - A couple weeks ago we went door knocking, and gave a Book of Mormon to a guy at his doorstep. We asked if we could come back and talk more about it and he said that would be great! So Syster Welton and I met with him on Monday night--and he is SO prepared to learn about the Gospel. He had a ton of questions, and had already read the first couple chapters of the BOM. We went through both the Restoration AND the Plan of Salvation-- and every time we read a scripture, he would ask us for a pen and then underline the parts that he liked. It was awesome.  - We taught another school class at the church along with a member! We did a quick little lesson about the Restoration and then helped answer questions. It was reall...

The Work Goes Forth!

Hello everyone!  WHAT A WEEK!  Here in the southernmost part of Sweden, the weather is pretty dang nice right now. The temperature is in the mid 40s and the the sun has been shining lately. Thriving.  Some awesome, spiritual things that happened this week: - We've been teaching a family (a mother and her two daughters) for a little while now, and we just put them all on baptismal date!! It was amazing. They are SO ready to be members of this church.  - We had a good lesson with our friend named *John about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and he's now considering baptism as well.  - We taught about the Atonement and repentance a couple times, which is always a really powerful topic to cover. To share the good news that we have a Savior who had paid the price of our sins, and how we can be made clean again through Him is a blessing. - We had SEVEN PEOPLE who are investigating the church come to church on Sunday. Sitting in sacrament meeting, I had an old Romania...

A Fortnight in Stockholm

Tjena!  This week went by pretty quickly. On Thursday we took the 5 hour train to Stockholm for Splits, and then came back the VERY next day. Another 5 hours. What a gem of a ride. But it was fun!  I got to split with Syster Layton, who is SUPER NICE. We taught a 10 year old boy who's getting baptized next Saturday, and he goes to a special elementary school for dancers. When we asked him for dancing advice, he told us, mid-stretch, "don't be afraid to do your thing."  Amen.  This week, me and Syster Welton: - were broke - picked up a weight set that my parents sent me in the mail💪 - taught *John about the restoration!  - taught a cute little family about the Word of Wisdom, and they took it INCREDIBLY well. Amazingly well.  - ate semlor! It's a seasonal pastry in Sweden, and it was pretty dang good! It's like a soft bun with marzipan and almond creme.  - met some new friends!  - got preached to by a mildly crazy lady. But it's okay, we lo...
