The Work Goes Forth!

 Hello everyone!

WHAT A WEEK!
Here in the southernmost part of Sweden, the weather is pretty dang nice right now. The temperature is in the mid 40s and the the sun has been shining lately. Thriving.

Some awesome, spiritual things that happened this week:
- We've been teaching a family (a mother and her two daughters) for a little while now, and we just put them all on baptismal date!! It was amazing. They are SO ready to be members of this church.
- We had a good lesson with our friend named *John about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and he's now considering baptism as well.
- We taught about the Atonement and repentance a couple times, which is always a really powerful topic to cover. To share the good news that we have a Savior who had paid the price of our sins, and how we can be made clean again through Him is a blessing.
- We had SEVEN PEOPLE who are investigating the church come to church on Sunday. Sitting in sacrament meeting, I had an old Romanian guy on my right, a Muslim guy to my left, and a guy from Peru sitting behind me. And somehow, someway, it felt exactly like home.
- We went contacting on Lund University campus, and I gave out 2 Book of Mormons !! It always feels good to get more Book of Mormons out into the world.

Some other happy moments:
- We went out to eat burgers for lunch after we got our little family on date for baptism, and it tasted SO GOOD. It had been a minute since I'd eaten a burger.
- We had a fun English class this week.
- We spent some time at a members house yesterday, and they asked us to explain what groundhogs day is...you guys, I never realized how weird groundhogs day is. It was absolutely HILARIOUS to try and explain to a group of Swedes that whether a groundhog can see his shadow or not determines the weather. I was laughing so hard.
- That same member family had homemade semlor (Swedish dessert) for us and it was cute.
- We rode in a double-decker bus and sat in the very front on the top which was vibes.
- We went hiking today with our ward mission leader and some elders and it was fun.

A scripture I've been thinking about this week is 2 Nephi 31:20. It's a classic:

Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

Press forward everyone! There is so much hope to be found in Christ! When we feast upon His word, learn of Him, and follow His example, we can have joy in both this life and the next.

Have an awesome week!

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

High highs and low lows

Hejsan!  Vilken vecka asså!  It feels like SO many things happened. For better or for worse, haha!  A Monday night miracle:  We went out to talk to people at 7 pm--when it's cold and dark--and ran into one of the most prepared people I've ever met on my mission. His name is *Mitch, and we caught him right after he left the gym.  We asked him what gives him hope, and he didn't know. So he returned the question, and Syster Rollins explained that our hope comes from our faith in God and Jesus Christ.  He immediately lit up, and we told him about why we were in Sweden and some details about our church. He was very interested, and we met with him on Saturday!  The best lesson ever: We gave him a tour around the church, which he loved, and then taught him about the Restoration. He had awesome questions! By the end of the lesson, he said that: 1) God gives us the gift of discernment so that we can know what comes from Jesus Christ, and what doesn't. An...

Finding Week

Hey everyone!  This week we did a lot of finding. Which essentially means that we went out on the streets, and talked to many, many people. Good and interesting! We talked to: - an old woman who said that she's always wondered what the meaning of life is, and has never gotten a good answer. We had good news! - A young girl who excitedly asked us what we were doing, and told us that she believes in Christ!  - An orthodox Christian who told us that we are going to hell for what we believe. Oof.  - A man who said he's never grown up in religion, but thinks its interesting to talk about. - A man from Latvia who said he's been to heaven and there's no God there. Very confusing.  - A cute girl on the tunnelbana who was very excited to take a Book of Mormon! She said she had just started going to church a couple weeks ago. And I also met a lot of people who said that knowing there is a God would change absolutely nothing for them in their lives. Which really surprise...
