A Fortnight in Stockholm

 Tjena!

This week went by pretty quickly. On Thursday we took the 5 hour train to Stockholm for Splits, and then came back the VERY next day. Another 5 hours. What a gem of a ride. But it was fun!

I got to split with Syster Layton, who is SUPER NICE. We taught a 10 year old boy who's getting baptized next Saturday, and he goes to a special elementary school for dancers. When we asked him for dancing advice, he told us, mid-stretch, "don't be afraid to do your thing."

Amen.

This week, me and Syster Welton:
- were broke
- picked up a weight set that my parents sent me in the mail💪
- taught *John about the restoration!
- taught a cute little family about the Word of Wisdom, and they took it INCREDIBLY well. Amazingly well.
- ate semlor! It's a seasonal pastry in Sweden, and it was pretty dang good! It's like a soft bun with marzipan and almond creme.
- met some new friends!
- got preached to by a mildly crazy lady. But it's okay, we love her.
- taught a Come Follow Me class! One of the members who attends looked at my hands during class and asked me if I had worn gloves that day. The answer was no, unfortunately, and she was very disappointed. She told me that my hands look terrible, and that they'll look terrible when I get old. She then made me wear gloves during class. Lesson learned, haha!

A scripture for this week is Ether 12:6.

"And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith."

I know that God works in our lives according to our faith. But we must ACT on our faith in order to see it.

Ha det så bra!

Warning: do not try to use a Styrofoam box as a weight bench. (Not that I would ever do that).

It's bulk season everyone.

The gloves I had to wear during Come Follow Me.

Trying not to feel sick on the train!

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

I'm 20 now

Hej everyone!  Thank you so much for all of the birthday wishes. Very much appreciated.  This week was pretty eventful, actually! Some good stuff: - had Splits on my birthday, where I got to teach one of the best lessons of my mission. I don't know if I've ever seen a person more genuinely touched by the Plan that God has for us. It was awesome. - the sisters we stayed with threw a little party for me when we got back to the apartment that night, which was very cute of them. - I also gave out a Book of Mormon on my birthday, which was sweet! #bestgift - had another lesson with a woman from Ukraine who is really sweet and even reads the BOM on her own!  - ate a lot of naturgodis.  - met a guy on the tunnelbana who's mom was a witch, and we're meeting with him this week!  - ate waffles at Pablo's house yesterday. Some not so good: - Had to block a creepy guy on Facebook.  - had to live-translate our testimony meeting to English, which I am SO terrible at doin...

The blessed jalapeño

Tjena! This week was great!  We got TWO MEMBER referrals and it turns out one of them met with the missionaries over twenty years ago and loves our church!! That was my first papusa experience. #shoutouttobeth - played innebandy at the church with some cool people - had a lesson about the nature of God with our friend *Mont. It was awesome. Everyone go read Alma 42. - accidentally cried in a Willy's grocery store  - met a really nice old Swedish guy on the street, and answered his questions about us and our church for about 30 minutes. And his wife was adorable, too.  - received a lasagna  - spoke in sacrament meeting on Sunday! #nice On Sunday, I spoke about miracles. Our God is a God of miracles! He's done them before, and he'll do them today.  Have a fantastical week. Sys Naatjes  snow! ...
