A fever and a new comp

Tjena! What a week. It was Kaos.  We: - ran around so that Syster Yoachum could say goodbye to everyone before leaving  - had hot chocolate and walnuts with our friend *Matt  - had transfers  - got sick **bonus points, I had a fever and felt AWFUL on transfer day so I stayed home at the apartment to sleep and break my fever before my new companion came to the area. #apostate **extra bonus points, my voice sounds like a grandma who has smoked for like 60 years - did a bunch of street contacting  - put our friend *Anna on date for baptism at the end of September!!! She's come to church 4 times now and she has such a pure soul. Love her.  My new companion is Syster Jaques, (pronounced like Jakes), and she's great! I think we'll have a fun transfer.  Yay! Have a good week everyone, and please enjoy the feeling of not being sick !  Syster Naatjes    Syster Jaques and I in the city hot chocolate and walnuts  the trio (eyes closed) Fika wi...

Temporary Trio

Tjena!  This week was fun, and bizarre. Because of the way transfers worked out, we have lovely Syster Bryson staying with us for a week before transfers happen. So we picked up a third companion on Friday! #funsies  In other transfers news, I will be getting a new companion this Thursday, and staying here in Jakobsberg! It'll be good.  This week we: - went finding and met some new people  - got multiple slices of cheese stuck to our windshield - met and taught our friend *Anna, who has come to church THREE times now ! We gave her a Book of Mormon, and she was SO grateful. AND she brought her son AND her daughter with her to church yesterday. We love her.  - Got quite a few referrals, actually--which is sweet. We're hoping to meet with them this week. - received 5 packages of beans as a gift #score  - attended the baptism of a woman that me and Syster Prendergast taught in Gubbängen, and it was AWESOME. She is so sweet, and has a strong testimony of ...

Fest after Fest

Tjena!  This week was full of parties. We had a ward grillfest, AND our new member Katarina had her birthday party. Both were good. And both were scheduled at the same time on the same day. So we hopped back and forth!  We also: -met a group of old Iraqian dudes that had a lot to say about the US government -talked with a woman who was walking her pet bunny, and got her number!  - had a bunch of friends at church actually! Our friend that we met on the street two weeks ago came again, and brought her daughter with her! #slay -called a random dude in our records, and reached him EXACTLY when he had sat down to smoke a bunch of cigarettes. He said he felt really alone in his life, and thanked us for calling him. He said that because we called, he knows that God is aware of him.  PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT! God is aware of every one of his children. Including you. In the words of Ammon: "Yea, and [God] looketh down upon all the children of men; and he knows all ...

Splits and Street Miracles

Hej alla! I don't have much time, but I thought to write a couple miracles we saw this week. - We gave out not one, but TWO Book of Mormons on the street #swag - Invited a lady we met on the street to come to church this Sunday, AND SHE DID! And she loved it! She said that she'll come back next week and bring her son with her!  - We had a member in on one of our lessons, and they bonded SO WELL with our friend. It was awesome. I guess they both really like papagoyas? Very random lol - A random guy called us and said he wants to come to church ? Nice.  - I had been really craving American pizza, and had TWO opportunities to eat it in the past couple days. #SCORE  Some other random things: - One of our friends is from Egypt, and told us that "All Egyptians love Home Alone." As in, the American Christmas movie. Which made me laugh really hard.  - One of our members asked to do a fika after church and told us to invite all of our friends. Then we showed up with ou...

A series of inconveniences

Hej everyone!  This week was good. We met with quite a few friends, and had some good lessons. Tried to, anyways.😂 Inconvenience #1: We met our friend *Steven at his house--which should have been totally fine, except for that his mom was in the same room and decided that she needed to take a hammer to a bag of salt to "make the salt pieces smaller" during our lesson. It was unbelievably loud, and we essentially had to yell in order to invite him to be baptized. Oops.  Inconvenience #2: We met our friend *Helen in public, at a little fika spot called Wayne's Coffee in order to have a lesson with her. Which again, SHOULD have been fine--except that a deranged man (in an almost empty restaurant) sat RIGHT next to our table and kept creepily staring at us and derailing our conversation with random questions about where we're from. Dang. Inconvenience #3: We were having a lesson with our friend *Mark at the park, and a giant wedding celebration began right next to us wi...

A grillfest of strangers

Hej alla!  This week was busy, and fun, and good. We had a lot of lessons, we had a game night, we had a volleyball activity, and we had a 50 minute lesson on the street with a guy named *Matt who stopped us and asked us if we were Mormons, and then took us on a walk.  We also: - got a call from a member in our ward who asked us to pick her up after she got in a crazy car accident  - got invited to a grillfest by a person we had never met, and met a bunch of very interesting people there. We were able to talk about the gospel quite a bit, and gave out our card. We even scored half a free Korv!  - invited someone to be baptized. She said no. #tyvärr  - Had a really deep lesson with our friend *Mark about the temple and about making covenants with God.  - had yet ANOTHER person tell me that I look like an elf  - had a lesson in a burger joint and ate the worst nachos ever  Spiritual thought for the week is from Mosiah 4: "9 Believe in God; be...

Elevator Fiesta

Tjena! What a crazy week. I moved to Jakobsberg! Some very noteworthy events: - Had a party to celebrate one of our members getting baptized 4 years ago, and then 8 of us got in the elevator afterwards. The bad news is that the elevator was only built to hold 5 people, and we got stuck in there for 45 minutes. NICE. - Our ward mission leader Pablo brought us mangoes on my last day at church in Gubbängen. He knows how much I love them.  - Played volleyboll with my new ward.  - Went and visited someone in a mental hospital and she asked us to sing for her. So we did. And she cried.  - Went and got burgers from Bastard Burgers with the bishop and his wife in Gubbängen before moving. #freefood - Got asked to speak in the middle of sacrament meeting here in Jakobsberg, so I did!  #missionarylife  - Went and knocked some doors, and it did not go entirely well. #LOL My new area has a car! First time I've ever had a car on my mission. Kinda exciting. Kinda differ...
