A grillfest of strangers

 Hej alla!

This week was busy, and fun, and good.

We had a lot of lessons, we had a game night, we had a volleyball activity, and we had a 50 minute lesson on the street with a guy named *Matt who stopped us and asked us if we were Mormons, and then took us on a walk.

We also:
- got a call from a member in our ward who asked us to pick her up after she got in a crazy car accident
- got invited to a grillfest by a person we had never met, and met a bunch of very interesting people there. We were able to talk about the gospel quite a bit, and gave out our card. We even scored half a free Korv!
- invited someone to be baptized. She said no. #tyvärr
- Had a really deep lesson with our friend *Mark about the temple and about making covenants with God.
- had yet ANOTHER person tell me that I look like an elf
- had a lesson in a burger joint and ate the worst nachos ever

Spiritual thought for the week is from Mosiah 4:
"9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend."

I really like the last line of this verse. We talk a lot about believing in God as a creator, that he has power and wisdom, that he watches over us--but we don't talk that much about how God can comprehend the things we can't.

Sometimes we get lost when we don't understand something, but God has the missing pieces of the puzzle, and has the capacity to understand and utilize truth in a way that's beyond our mortal means.
I know he lives.

Have a good week!

Salt Lake City Swag

Hallå everyone! This past week was pretty awesome. I still have no news of when I'm going to Sweden, but I assume it'll be at the end of this transfer. So three more weeks! (Probably.)  One of many miracles: Last Tuesday, me and Sister Hendrix were going to go bother a less active family that lives in an apartment complex nearby. We knocked, but they weren't home/didn't answer the door.  A couple doors down the hall though, there was a little boy standing outside and staring at us. So I walked over to him, and asked if his parents were home. He stared at me in fear for a couple of seconds, but then disappeared into the room--sending his mom to the door.  She invited us inside, and expressed how she felt like her faith has been lacking lately, and she doesn't know what she's doing in her life.  We shared a little bit about the plan of Salvation with her, and she told us that the past couple days she had been praying for God to send her a sign that he knows her...
