Elevator Fiesta

 Tjena!

What a crazy week. I moved to Jakobsberg!

Some very noteworthy events:
- Had a party to celebrate one of our members getting baptized 4 years ago, and then 8 of us got in the elevator afterwards. The bad news is that the elevator was only built to hold 5 people, and we got stuck in there for 45 minutes. NICE.
- Our ward mission leader Pablo brought us mangoes on my last day at church in Gubbängen. He knows how much I love them.
- Played volleyboll with my new ward.
- Went and visited someone in a mental hospital and she asked us to sing for her. So we did. And she cried.
- Went and got burgers from Bastard Burgers with the bishop and his wife in Gubbängen before moving. #freefood
- Got asked to speak in the middle of sacrament meeting here in Jakobsberg, so I did!  #missionarylife
- Went and knocked some doors, and it did not go entirely well. #LOL

My new area has a car! First time I've ever had a car on my mission. Kinda exciting. Kinda different.

Spiritual thought for the week, ft. Paul:
Romans 1:16 reads--
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."

I just want everyone to know that I have this same sentiment. I have confidence in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know there is power in it, and that it's the way to purpose and peace in this life.

Have a great week.

All of us packed into a five person elevator. (Before it got stuck.)

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

High highs and low lows

Hejsan!  Vilken vecka asså!  It feels like SO many things happened. For better or for worse, haha!  A Monday night miracle:  We went out to talk to people at 7 pm--when it's cold and dark--and ran into one of the most prepared people I've ever met on my mission. His name is *Mitch, and we caught him right after he left the gym.  We asked him what gives him hope, and he didn't know. So he returned the question, and Syster Rollins explained that our hope comes from our faith in God and Jesus Christ.  He immediately lit up, and we told him about why we were in Sweden and some details about our church. He was very interested, and we met with him on Saturday!  The best lesson ever: We gave him a tour around the church, which he loved, and then taught him about the Restoration. He had awesome questions! By the end of the lesson, he said that: 1) God gives us the gift of discernment so that we can know what comes from Jesus Christ, and what doesn't. An...

A grillfest of strangers

Hej alla!  This week was busy, and fun, and good. We had a lot of lessons, we had a game night, we had a volleyball activity, and we had a 50 minute lesson on the street with a guy named *Matt who stopped us and asked us if we were Mormons, and then took us on a walk.  We also: - got a call from a member in our ward who asked us to pick her up after she got in a crazy car accident  - got invited to a grillfest by a person we had never met, and met a bunch of very interesting people there. We were able to talk about the gospel quite a bit, and gave out our card. We even scored half a free Korv!  - invited someone to be baptized. She said no. #tyvärr  - Had a really deep lesson with our friend *Mark about the temple and about making covenants with God.  - had yet ANOTHER person tell me that I look like an elf  - had a lesson in a burger joint and ate the worst nachos ever  Spiritual thought for the week is from Mosiah 4: "9 Believe in God; be...
