Roses and Singing

Hejsan!  Another amazing week. Some things: - We met with a woman who has been really hard to meet with, and asked her if she had any questions for us. Her only question was "How do I become a member of your church?"  - Had a free concert with the infamous Herrey Brothers who won Eurovision a while back.  - Helped a young couple move, and then ate the best burger of my life afterwards.  - Went to a baptism, and had our friend Wanda* come along! She loved it, and is very excited for her baptism next week. *Side note: The woman who got baptized almost hit her head on the railing on the way into the water--and everyone gasped. And she's incredibly light-hearted and funny about the whole thing. She keeps cracking jokes about it.  - It was mors dag yesterday here in Sweden, and so all of the women got roses in church and there was tårta afterwards. #score  We got transfer news, and both me and Syster Prendergast will be staying here in Gubbängen--which we...

The Rain and the Miracles

Hej alla!  What a week. Holy cow.  There was a point in the week where we were soaking wet, and I had to pee SO bad, and so we were told that there was a bathroom at the top of like 8 flights of stairs--and so we went all the way up, only to find no bathroom. So we were just very wet and very uncomfortable. For quite a long time. But hey, that's show biz.  Otherwise, we had some of the most awesome lessons of my whole mission this week.  -We taught a guy who we met in the mall about two weeks ago, and he had awesome questions about the Plan of Salvation. He told us at the end that he could see how merciful God truly is.  -We taught a man that Syster Prendergast met on Facebook, and he said that he wants to rekindle the faith he had as a kid. I very much admire the pure desire he has to come back to God. -We taught a woman named Wanda*, and she is amazing. She has had a very hard life, and wants to restart and connect with Jesus Christ. And she wants to be...

Finding Week

Hey everyone!  This week we did a lot of finding. Which essentially means that we went out on the streets, and talked to many, many people. Good and interesting! We talked to: - an old woman who said that she's always wondered what the meaning of life is, and has never gotten a good answer. We had good news! - A young girl who excitedly asked us what we were doing, and told us that she believes in Christ!  - An orthodox Christian who told us that we are going to hell for what we believe. Oof.  - A man who said he's never grown up in religion, but thinks its interesting to talk about. - A man from Latvia who said he's been to heaven and there's no God there. Very confusing.  - A cute girl on the tunnelbana who was very excited to take a Book of Mormon! She said she had just started going to church a couple weeks ago. And I also met a lot of people who said that knowing there is a God would change absolutely nothing for them in their lives. Which really surprise...

I'm 20 now

Hej everyone!  Thank you so much for all of the birthday wishes. Very much appreciated.  This week was pretty eventful, actually! Some good stuff: - had Splits on my birthday, where I got to teach one of the best lessons of my mission. I don't know if I've ever seen a person more genuinely touched by the Plan that God has for us. It was awesome. - the sisters we stayed with threw a little party for me when we got back to the apartment that night, which was very cute of them. - I also gave out a Book of Mormon on my birthday, which was sweet! #bestgift - had another lesson with a woman from Ukraine who is really sweet and even reads the BOM on her own!  - ate a lot of naturgodis.  - met a guy on the tunnelbana who's mom was a witch, and we're meeting with him this week!  - ate waffles at Pablo's house yesterday. Some not so good: - Had to block a creepy guy on Facebook.  - had to live-translate our testimony meeting to English, which I am SO terrible at doin...

Cross Jewlery ftw

Another week down! This week was kind of a blurr.  There was one day where we were running from appointment to appointment and had no time for lunch. So we ended up taking a long dinner and buying a pizza. It was awesome. It was a tryffel pizza. I liked it.  We were able to find a lot of new people to teach, and it's crazy to think about how we can be so perfectly placed to meet the exact right people at the exact right time.  Earlier in the week, we hopped on a tunnelbana to talk to people, and met a woman who is from Ukraine. We noticed her because she had HUGE bejeweled cross earrings, and got her number! We were then able to teach her about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon with a member who translated it into Russian. Super cool. We also taught a boy that Syster Bagley and I met in the mall two weeks ago--because we had noticed his cross necklace! #christianmoment Other notable events: - We met with David, who got baptized several weeks ago, and he was very upset t...
