I look like an elf

 Hejsan!

What a packed week. I moved to Stockholm, said goodbye to some awesome people in Lund, and met a million new people here--whether that be in the ward, on the tunnelbana, or on the street.

My new companion's name is Syster Bagley and she's awesome! She's from Utah, and has been here in Gubbängen for two transfers already.

This week's highlights AND lowlights (Which is which? Player's choice.):
- I ate a whole bunch of halloumi (grilled cheese ?) on multiple occasions.
- In the middle of a lesson with two people we were meeting for the first time, one of them interrupted the conversation and said "I'm really sorry but there's just something I need to say. You look like an elf." And immediately after, her friend said "Woaahhh...you know what? You REALLY do. I couldn't put my finger on it but that's exactly right!"
- We taught a lesson in Swedish, which was then translated into Spanish by one of the members in our ward for our friend *Daniel.
- We ate African food, and Mexican food!
- I found out that the apartment here in Gubbängen is nicknamed "the shoe box."
- We talked with a man sitting on a bench for almost 40 minutes one day.
- I ate a traditional Indian dinner, surrounded by about 20 Indian people, in the apartment of a Swedish man named Pablo.

I don't have much time this week, but this is everyone's friendly reminder to
rely on Christ! We're not expected to do this all alone! He's there, He's ready, and his hand is outstretched.

Love you all!

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

High highs and low lows

Hejsan!  Vilken vecka asså!  It feels like SO many things happened. For better or for worse, haha!  A Monday night miracle:  We went out to talk to people at 7 pm--when it's cold and dark--and ran into one of the most prepared people I've ever met on my mission. His name is *Mitch, and we caught him right after he left the gym.  We asked him what gives him hope, and he didn't know. So he returned the question, and Syster Rollins explained that our hope comes from our faith in God and Jesus Christ.  He immediately lit up, and we told him about why we were in Sweden and some details about our church. He was very interested, and we met with him on Saturday!  The best lesson ever: We gave him a tour around the church, which he loved, and then taught him about the Restoration. He had awesome questions! By the end of the lesson, he said that: 1) God gives us the gift of discernment so that we can know what comes from Jesus Christ, and what doesn't. An...

Finding Week

Hey everyone!  This week we did a lot of finding. Which essentially means that we went out on the streets, and talked to many, many people. Good and interesting! We talked to: - an old woman who said that she's always wondered what the meaning of life is, and has never gotten a good answer. We had good news! - A young girl who excitedly asked us what we were doing, and told us that she believes in Christ!  - An orthodox Christian who told us that we are going to hell for what we believe. Oof.  - A man who said he's never grown up in religion, but thinks its interesting to talk about. - A man from Latvia who said he's been to heaven and there's no God there. Very confusing.  - A cute girl on the tunnelbana who was very excited to take a Book of Mormon! She said she had just started going to church a couple weeks ago. And I also met a lot of people who said that knowing there is a God would change absolutely nothing for them in their lives. Which really surprise...
