December Begins

 Hej Alla!

Another week gone, and another week closer to Christmas!

It seems like this week we taught the Restoration quite a bit! And something that I learned, and actually didn't expect somehow, is that the Spirit is REALLY strong when you recite the first vision:

"I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me...When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!"

Which I did, three times this week! (In Swedish, of course.)

1. We had a lesson at a members home, and it was actually the first time we had met this investigator. He was an older guy who had a friend that was a member of the church, and had requested a Book of Mormon from us. We went through the Restoration, and I recited the first vision. The spirit was strong enough that our lovely member family actually felt prompted to invite him to baptism immediately afterwards. He said he'd consider it, haha!
2. Another guy, about 22 years years old, requested a Book of Mormon, and we met him at the University library. He's quite religious, and is super curious and open to learning more about our faith. Again, I had the opportunity to recite it--and the spirit became almost tangible.
3. A less-active member brought a friend along with her to church, and then we taught him a lesson during second hour! It was awesome, and he's also considering baptism!

Christmas-related events:
- Our ward had a Christmas party, where I was put in charge of the meatballs😳 if anybody knows Swedes, their meatballs are quite important to them. So I was a little stressed while I fried like 200 meatballs in the church kitchen.
- We had a couple friends that came to the party, and it went really well!
-There's like 5 Christmas trees up around stan now and it's adorable.
- Something I didn't know is that sometimes Swedes will dance around the Christmas tree while holding hands and such, and that was SUPER cute. We got to do that at the party.
-Syster Taylor and I put up Christmas decorations in our apartment so we can feel festive.

The miracles continue.
- We had lessons with like 4 new people this past week!
- We went to buy falafel for lunch on Saturday and a lady came up to us while we were ordering and said she recognized Syster Taylor from Facebook. She's now going to meet with us this upcoming week!
- One of our awesome members referred us to their friend and we're going to start meeting with him regularly!
-We got in contact with many less active members!
- One of the people we met with asked us to learn more about Christ's crucifixion, and I had studied it in the Bible THAT MORNING! And I usually don't study out of the Bible, so that was really random and definitely NOT a coincidence.

There were many more, that I don't have time to go into detail about, but I'm grateful for Christ, I'm grateful for Christmas, and I'm grateful for the Restoration of His true gospel.

Oh, and everybody should eat a meatball this week. Just because.

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

High highs and low lows

Hejsan!  Vilken vecka asså!  It feels like SO many things happened. For better or for worse, haha!  A Monday night miracle:  We went out to talk to people at 7 pm--when it's cold and dark--and ran into one of the most prepared people I've ever met on my mission. His name is *Mitch, and we caught him right after he left the gym.  We asked him what gives him hope, and he didn't know. So he returned the question, and Syster Rollins explained that our hope comes from our faith in God and Jesus Christ.  He immediately lit up, and we told him about why we were in Sweden and some details about our church. He was very interested, and we met with him on Saturday!  The best lesson ever: We gave him a tour around the church, which he loved, and then taught him about the Restoration. He had awesome questions! By the end of the lesson, he said that: 1) God gives us the gift of discernment so that we can know what comes from Jesus Christ, and what doesn't. An...

Finding Week

Hey everyone!  This week we did a lot of finding. Which essentially means that we went out on the streets, and talked to many, many people. Good and interesting! We talked to: - an old woman who said that she's always wondered what the meaning of life is, and has never gotten a good answer. We had good news! - A young girl who excitedly asked us what we were doing, and told us that she believes in Christ!  - An orthodox Christian who told us that we are going to hell for what we believe. Oof.  - A man who said he's never grown up in religion, but thinks its interesting to talk about. - A man from Latvia who said he's been to heaven and there's no God there. Very confusing.  - A cute girl on the tunnelbana who was very excited to take a Book of Mormon! She said she had just started going to church a couple weeks ago. And I also met a lot of people who said that knowing there is a God would change absolutely nothing for them in their lives. Which really surprise...
