A Dopy Week

 Hallå alla!

What an interesting and eventful week we've had!
1) We did quite a bit of service to help prepare for the ELDERS we have now!! That's right, transfers came around...so Syster Taylor and I will keep boogying here in Lund, but we're sharing our ward with Äldster now as well! You know your area is popping off when you need MORE missionaries just to keep up!
2) We started practice for Sankta Lucia, which takes place in early December. We have to learn a bunch of traditional Swedish songs that are incredibly high in key. Pray for us. Specifically, our vocal chords.
3) *MASON GOT BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY! He had his baptismal interview on Thursday, got baptized on Saturday, and then received the gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday!!! It was amazing.
All you guys need to know about *Mason is that he was a self-referral to the missionaries. He came to us, wanting to change his life. And now he has.
He was baptized by a man that's over 60 years old in our ward--so we were a little worried it might take a couple tries for him to get fully immersed under the water. BUT- it actually went very smoothly, and the meeting was beautiful. We gave *Mason the opportunity to bear his testimony at the end, and he spoke about how happy he is to be a part of this church.
And on Sunday, after he received the Holy Ghost, he told us that his whole body filled with warmth.
I've never been more proud of a person in my life. And now, he's incredibly excited about going to the temple.
4) Syster Taylor and I accidentally met with a man who lives in Helsingborg, and he bought us a fancy three course meal.
5) We raked leaves for an old man who makes art in the shape of sperm.
6) ONE OF OUR FRIENDS FINALLY CAME TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY. He's awesome, and the ward welcomed him very warmly. He said he felt the spirit there.
7) We went to a youth Halloween party and tried to learn a zombie dance with them. We discovered we are not dancers.
8) Me and Syster Taylor's bus didn't come one day--but it ended up sparking a conversation with two girls that concluded with us giving each of them a Book of Mormon!!
9) This weekend was a Swedish holiday where they put a bunch of candles in the graveyards to remember their loved ones. It was really beautiful.

All in all, I am super grateful to be a missionary. And I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to watch *Mason change as he comes closer to the Savior. Christ is truly our source of joy.

YAY! HEJ DÅ!

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

A Fortnight in Stockholm

Tjena!  This week went by pretty quickly. On Thursday we took the 5 hour train to Stockholm for Splits, and then came back the VERY next day. Another 5 hours. What a gem of a ride. But it was fun!  I got to split with Syster Layton, who is SUPER NICE. We taught a 10 year old boy who's getting baptized next Saturday, and he goes to a special elementary school for dancers. When we asked him for dancing advice, he told us, mid-stretch, "don't be afraid to do your thing."  Amen.  This week, me and Syster Welton: - were broke - picked up a weight set that my parents sent me in the mail💪 - taught *John about the restoration!  - taught a cute little family about the Word of Wisdom, and they took it INCREDIBLY well. Amazingly well.  - ate semlor! It's a seasonal pastry in Sweden, and it was pretty dang good! It's like a soft bun with marzipan and almond creme.  - met some new friends!  - got preached to by a mildly crazy lady. But it's okay, we lo...

A fever and a new comp

Tjena! What a week. It was Kaos.  We: - ran around so that Syster Yoachum could say goodbye to everyone before leaving  - had hot chocolate and walnuts with our friend *Matt  - had transfers  - got sick **bonus points, I had a fever and felt AWFUL on transfer day so I stayed home at the apartment to sleep and break my fever before my new companion came to the area. #apostate **extra bonus points, my voice sounds like a grandma who has smoked for like 60 years - did a bunch of street contacting  - put our friend *Anna on date for baptism at the end of September!!! She's come to church 4 times now and she has such a pure soul. Love her.  My new companion is Syster Jaques, (pronounced like Jakes), and she's great! I think we'll have a fun transfer.  Yay! Have a good week everyone, and please enjoy the feeling of not being sick !  Syster Naatjes    Syster Jaques and I in the city hot chocolate and walnuts  the trio (eyes closed) Fika wi...
