Swedish Food Continued...

 Hej allihopa!

Things are GOOD!

Some good things:
- *Mason is on date for baptism, and is INCREDIBLY faithful. His determination and willingness to learn is inspiring.
- We went to a taco party, and were able to teach about the nature of God in the midst of a bunch of people drinking beer. Interesting setting, but the spirit was able to shine through nonetheless.
- We did a LOT of service. Much service. It was great.
- A member in our ward asked us to make cupcakes for her son's birthday party because her oven broke. Of course, we agreed to help, only to find out the night before the party that our oven was also broken. Not ideal, but the Lord provides a way!!! We met our neighbors, who allowed us to use their oven, and were able to finish baking all of the cupcakes at the church. #swag
- Me and Sister Taylor discovered that we are secretly amazing at decorating cupcakes. Starting a business soon. Stay tuned.
- We had a mission-wide zoom call, where President Davis announced that ELDER HOLLAND will be coming to speak to our mission in November. SO PSYCHED.
- We taught a LOT of lessons about the Plan of Salvation, which was cool.
- We are incredibly busy. Which is the BEST problem to have.

Some...other things?
- A sweet old woman named Edita made spaghetti for us, and insisted that we add ketchup to it. It wasn't bad...but it (not-so-surprisingly) just tasted like noodles and ketchup. Wouldn't recommend.
- I tried falafel, which was pretty good. Might recommend.
- Today we had district lunch, where I got "kebap-tized." It's where you eat one of Sweden's infamous kebab pizzas. Which, by the way, has French fries on top!!!! I must say, I'm very surprised Sweden beat America to the punch on this one. It's quite possible that French fries on pizza is the most American thing I've ever eaten.
- I tried to invite a random old lady on the bus to watch general conference yesterday (an online meeting where our modern-day prophet speaks to all of us), and she quite literally couldn't understand what I was saying. I hope this gives everyone a little indicator of how poor my Swedish currently is😂.

This past weekend, being able to watch general conference, and hear our prophet and apostles speak was SO powerful. I want everyone to know that I whole-heartedly believe that Jesus Christ overcame the world, and that we can too.

Have an amazing week!

Edita, Luka, and us!!! They are the ones who enjoy ketchup on pasta. Everything about them is great, except for their taste in pasta sauce.

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

High highs and low lows

Hejsan!  Vilken vecka asså!  It feels like SO many things happened. For better or for worse, haha!  A Monday night miracle:  We went out to talk to people at 7 pm--when it's cold and dark--and ran into one of the most prepared people I've ever met on my mission. His name is *Mitch, and we caught him right after he left the gym.  We asked him what gives him hope, and he didn't know. So he returned the question, and Syster Rollins explained that our hope comes from our faith in God and Jesus Christ.  He immediately lit up, and we told him about why we were in Sweden and some details about our church. He was very interested, and we met with him on Saturday!  The best lesson ever: We gave him a tour around the church, which he loved, and then taught him about the Restoration. He had awesome questions! By the end of the lesson, he said that: 1) God gives us the gift of discernment so that we can know what comes from Jesus Christ, and what doesn't. An...

A grillfest of strangers

Hej alla!  This week was busy, and fun, and good. We had a lot of lessons, we had a game night, we had a volleyball activity, and we had a 50 minute lesson on the street with a guy named *Matt who stopped us and asked us if we were Mormons, and then took us on a walk.  We also: - got a call from a member in our ward who asked us to pick her up after she got in a crazy car accident  - got invited to a grillfest by a person we had never met, and met a bunch of very interesting people there. We were able to talk about the gospel quite a bit, and gave out our card. We even scored half a free Korv!  - invited someone to be baptized. She said no. #tyvärr  - Had a really deep lesson with our friend *Mark about the temple and about making covenants with God.  - had yet ANOTHER person tell me that I look like an elf  - had a lesson in a burger joint and ate the worst nachos ever  Spiritual thought for the week is from Mosiah 4: "9 Believe in God; be...
