Exchanges!

 Hej alla!

This past week was good--per usual.

We met a girl to give her some Mormons böcker for both her and her boyfriend, and ended up talking with her for almost two hours! She had tons of questions...we talked about the Plan of Salvation, the Restoration, temples, and even went over the baptismal questions! Probably one of the beefiest lessons I've ever taught.

We got TWO MEMBER MEALS this past week, which was super clutch. The members here are AMAZING.

Then, we had exchanges from Friday to Saturday--and traveled to Landskrona! It was super fun to meet other sisters and see another part of Sweden.
(But Lund is still the best.) (Area solidarity.)

Some unexpected events:
- I accidentally got hugged by a drunk Swede on the street
- Syster Taylor accidentally flooded the STL's apartment because their shower is broken
- I tried fish and chips for the first time and accidentally liked it
- We were asked to make cupcakes again, for yet another child's birthday party, and had quite the kerfuffle trying to make them from scratch. They smelt like cornbread--but rumor has it that the kids ate them anyways!
- Last week me and Syster Taylor stumbled upon a zip line right next to an old church we were visiting and she cracked her phone trying to take a video of us going down it
- A member of the bishopric texted us on Saturday night asking me to speak the next morning in church, and I had a little freak out on Sunday morning. BUT I accidentally spoke for 20 minutes and left like no time for the other speakers. That'll teach them not to call on me last minute I guess!!
- A friend we had only met one time came to church yesterday! He even made an awesome comment in priesthood (so we were told)
- Syster Taylor is breaking open a dead jellyfish as we speak

For the talk that I gave in church yesterday, I spoke about the hope that the gospel brings into our lives.
A scripture I've really loved about hope lately is in Ether 12:4, which states:
"Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God."

My belief in God and Jesus Christ really do serve as an anchor to my soul, and allow me to have hope for a better world.

Have a good week!

A Busy Sunday

Hello everyone! We're going to hop straight in.  This week we: -Gave out more Books of Mormon on the street and by knocking doors. Always fun.  - Finally met with a really cute family that had been difficult to meet with! - Met with one of Syster Kearns' distant relatives who lives right outside of Lund! They got in contact with one another through ancestry and were able to meet and talk Swedish together! It was actually really cool. Syster Kearns got to explain that it was because of our religion that their common ancestors fled to the US, and is also now the reason why she's back here in Sweden. #fullcircle - Got kicked out of a Svenska Kyrka by a svenska kyrka priest who asked us to take off our name tags. Classy.  - Met a man who had no idea that his wife of 35 years is a member of our church and listened to him explain his deep, complicated, philosophical ideas.  - Got rejected many times on the street. -Had FIVE PEOPLE come to church yesterday! It was IN...

End of an Era

Hej!  This past week has been great. As always, we've seen miracles. And weird things, too! But I'm just absolutely filled with gratitude to be a servant of the Lord. Especially this past week, for some reason. This week we: -had an awesome lesson with a young Father, who's just trying to mend his relationship with God. Very pure.  - taught our friend *Anna and her 18 year-old son about prayer.  - made breakfast and watched general conference with our members and our friends on Sunday morning. #swedishvåfflor  - gave out a Book of Mormon in Persian to a sweet old lady who tried to speak Persian to us for like 10 minutes.  - got to have a great lesson with our friend *Marianne, and she had a lot of great questions about conference.  - got to eat some homemade rulltårta with one of our friends and his family. Very cute.  - had in-person distriktsråd and the Elders made us lunch. It was like a finish version of baked macaroni and cheese.  - fi...

High highs and low lows

Hejsan!  Vilken vecka asså!  It feels like SO many things happened. For better or for worse, haha!  A Monday night miracle:  We went out to talk to people at 7 pm--when it's cold and dark--and ran into one of the most prepared people I've ever met on my mission. His name is *Mitch, and we caught him right after he left the gym.  We asked him what gives him hope, and he didn't know. So he returned the question, and Syster Rollins explained that our hope comes from our faith in God and Jesus Christ.  He immediately lit up, and we told him about why we were in Sweden and some details about our church. He was very interested, and we met with him on Saturday!  The best lesson ever: We gave him a tour around the church, which he loved, and then taught him about the Restoration. He had awesome questions! By the end of the lesson, he said that: 1) God gives us the gift of discernment so that we can know what comes from Jesus Christ, and what doesn't. An...
