Another Week of WeJo

 Hejsan!

Okay, let's play two truths and a lie.
1) My travel plans arrived, and I'm leaving for Sweden next Monday.
2) Yesterday I fell off of my bike right next to the canal.
3) An old man stroked my hand on Saturday.

-

Okay. You caught me. They're all true. Unfortunately.
But on the BRIGHT side, I'm leaving for Sweden next Monday!!!! Holy guacamole. I'm of course nervous, and scared...but also terribly excited!!! Yay!

I'm so glad for the opportunity I've had to serve here in Salt Lake City though. I've met awesome people, made great memories, and I am simply SO grateful for my time here. I can't believe I only have one more week!

A cool experience from this past week:
Last Monday, I started talking to a guy named *Clark near the apartments, and we had an awesome conversation about personal revelation. I testified to him about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and told him about how it has aided me in receiving revelation from God for myself. I then asked him if he wanted to learn more about it, and he said yes!
Later in the week, we were biking through the apartments, and I felt prompted to stop and talk to a lady who was sitting alone outside of her room. She told us that she is a member of our church, but that she hasn't attended church in over 20 years. We also found out...that she's *Clark's wife!!! And she said she really wants to have us over for dinner sometime soon!
It was such a miracle! There's 30 apartment buildings in that little area, so the odds of us meeting her like that were SO slim!

Other events:
- I went on exchanges with Sister Whitaker, who is SO awesome, and we met a woman who said her religion is "viking" ? I don't know exactly what that means, but we might see her later this week, so I guess I'll find out!
- One of my favorite people in the world got her mission call last Tuesday, and she's going to Chile Osorno! I'm SO excited for her. (Amberly Milne) (Sister Milne) (Hermana Milne)
- We had stake conference this weekend, and the theme was "The Gospel of Jesus Christ is Good News." I love that, because it's true. Following Christ brings SUCH joy.
- Sister Hendrix made banana muffins.
- I finally got my pull-up bar assembled, but of course now I'm leaving next Monday! I'm not too worried, though--Papa Scott is ready and prepared to send a pull-up bar to me in Sweden. #thanksdad #mygunsarehisfirstpriority

I love you all, and I hope you're doing well!
I'm not sure if I'll have time to send an email next week, because I'll be traveling!

Me and Elder Torres after our last one-on-one showdown. I won 11-4. Not that anyone's counting. HAHA.

A Busy Sunday

Hello everyone! We're going to hop straight in.  This week we: -Gave out more Books of Mormon on the street and by knocking doors. Always fun.  - Finally met with a really cute family that had been difficult to meet with! - Met with one of Syster Kearns' distant relatives who lives right outside of Lund! They got in contact with one another through ancestry and were able to meet and talk Swedish together! It was actually really cool. Syster Kearns got to explain that it was because of our religion that their common ancestors fled to the US, and is also now the reason why she's back here in Sweden. #fullcircle - Got kicked out of a Svenska Kyrka by a svenska kyrka priest who asked us to take off our name tags. Classy.  - Met a man who had no idea that his wife of 35 years is a member of our church and listened to him explain his deep, complicated, philosophical ideas.  - Got rejected many times on the street. -Had FIVE PEOPLE come to church yesterday! It was IN...

High highs and low lows

Hejsan!  Vilken vecka asså!  It feels like SO many things happened. For better or for worse, haha!  A Monday night miracle:  We went out to talk to people at 7 pm--when it's cold and dark--and ran into one of the most prepared people I've ever met on my mission. His name is *Mitch, and we caught him right after he left the gym.  We asked him what gives him hope, and he didn't know. So he returned the question, and Syster Rollins explained that our hope comes from our faith in God and Jesus Christ.  He immediately lit up, and we told him about why we were in Sweden and some details about our church. He was very interested, and we met with him on Saturday!  The best lesson ever: We gave him a tour around the church, which he loved, and then taught him about the Restoration. He had awesome questions! By the end of the lesson, he said that: 1) God gives us the gift of discernment so that we can know what comes from Jesus Christ, and what doesn't. An...

I'm 20 now

Hej everyone!  Thank you so much for all of the birthday wishes. Very much appreciated.  This week was pretty eventful, actually! Some good stuff: - had Splits on my birthday, where I got to teach one of the best lessons of my mission. I don't know if I've ever seen a person more genuinely touched by the Plan that God has for us. It was awesome. - the sisters we stayed with threw a little party for me when we got back to the apartment that night, which was very cute of them. - I also gave out a Book of Mormon on my birthday, which was sweet! #bestgift - had another lesson with a woman from Ukraine who is really sweet and even reads the BOM on her own!  - ate a lot of naturgodis.  - met a guy on the tunnelbana who's mom was a witch, and we're meeting with him this week!  - ate waffles at Pablo's house yesterday. Some not so good: - Had to block a creepy guy on Facebook.  - had to live-translate our testimony meeting to English, which I am SO terrible at doin...
