Hallå everyone!
This past week was pretty awesome. I still have no news of when I'm going to Sweden, but I assume it'll be at the end of this transfer. So three more weeks! (Probably.)
One of many miracles:
Last Tuesday, me and Sister Hendrix were going to go bother a less active family that lives in an apartment complex nearby. We knocked, but they weren't home/didn't answer the door.
A couple doors down the hall though, there was a little boy standing outside and staring at us. So I walked over to him, and asked if his parents were home. He stared at me in fear for a couple of seconds, but then disappeared into the room--sending his mom to the door.
She invited us inside, and expressed how she felt like her faith has been lacking lately, and she doesn't know what she's doing in her life.
We shared a little bit about the plan of Salvation with her, and she told us that the past couple days she had been praying for God to send her a sign that he knows her. She said that us coming was an answer to her prayer.
I love how God is in the details.
Some other eventful things:
- I met an older lady who is mostly blind, but still drives. Don't ask me how.
- We put a girl on date for baptism next month! She's 11 years old and is super sweet.
- We were knocking doors in an apartment complex, and met a Satanist! Believe it or not, he wasn't interested in a message about Jesus Christ.
- We went to a ward barbecue, and I discovered a love for cornbread. I've never been a fan of cornbread, but I ended up eating like 5 pieces of it. I have no idea why.
- At the same barbecue, there were two different dishes of a pudding/marshmallow fluff/cottage cheese dessert that is apparently at every Utah event. I asked many members about it--and they all have their own special take on this dish. I tried both. They were not good. Utah needs to raise their standards for what qualifies as "dessert."
- We also put a boy on date for baptism in October. He has an attention span of....not long. But he's very excited !
This past week I got to the beginning of 3 Nephi in my scripture study, and in 3 Nephi 5:13, Mormon says:
"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life."
I love this scripture, simply because that's MY JOB! I get to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, who declares his word among the people.
And I know his word brings joy, and truly leads to everlasting life.
Have an amazing week, and know that God is aware of you.
Hej då!

The sunset was pretty, but you can't really tell. On the bright side, you can definitely make out how big my ears are. |

Elder Torres STILL refusing to take a photo with me (part 2). It was a devastating loss. You can't blame him. |
A photo I worked very hard to get. |
I love, love, love her emails! They are brimming over with joy and faith! Plus, equally important for the work she is doing, she has a wonderful ability to share that joy and faith with others!
