A stake event and a hairy salad

Hej alla!  I don't have a ton of time today, so this will be short and sweet.  This week I: - said goodbye to Syster Bagley. - got a new companion, fresh from Canada, and her name is Syster Prendergast! - got stuck on the phone for an hour with a old lady who had dementia and told me, in great detail, the ways in which three of her children died.  - Planned, baked for, panicked about, and completed an entire stake event called the musikafton. Which, thank goodness, ended up going pretty well! - taught one of the best, most straightforward restoration lessons ever with a guy named Lars who I met in the mall a couple weeks ago.  - ate a salad that had a bunch of hair in it.  - met a homeless guy who became a member of the church in Iceland about 10 years ago. He was actually super nice and can speak 14 languages. This week I went and read Joseph Smith History again, and I have such a testimony that the heavens are open and God speaks to us today!  Have...

Vad bra!

Hej alla! This week was busy, and awesome. And miracles were seen. Earlier in the week, I put a Persian book of Mormon in my backpack before going finding on the street.  Before heading out on Saturday, I took it out of my backpack...but then had a thought: "You never know!" So I put it back.  That morning, we hopped on the tunnelbana and I saw that the lady sitting next to me was typing on her phone in Persian. I starting talking to her only to find out that she's from Iran, and is Christian. She told me that "Jesus is everything." I proceeded to tell her that I have another book, called the Book of Mormon, that testifies about Jesus Christ--and how I even had one in Persian!  She took it and looked at it--and then asked if she could keep it! So I gave it to her and we exchanged numbers.  Other big events: - a guy who I chatted with on Facebook about the Book of Mormon back in November got baptized on Saturday ! I had referred him to the elders in Stockholm, a...

#GladPåsk

Happy Easter !  I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Here in Sweden, Easter is actually a 4 day holiday--so they take their Easter pretty seriously. Which I respect.  This year, I got to celebrate by speaking in sacrament meeting, and then eating meatballs and potato salad after church. Pretty solid celebration, though speaking on the day the Savior resurrected seemed like a daunting task.  This past week we hosted the Stockholm Sisters for exchanges, and had some cool experiences with it! - We went finding, and met a guy who wanted a Book of Mormon, and also wants to meet again! Pretty awesome.  - We did an interview with a group of students in a religion class! It's always really fun to talk to students and answer their questions about why people in our church get married so young.😂 But we also got to talk about why we like our church, and the cool doctrines that we have that separate us from other Christian religions.  - We had a cool lesson with a...

General Conference!

Hej everyone! As many of you know, this week was the week leading up to general conference, where we hear from the modern-day prophet and his apostles. Which means that we spent a huge majority of the week focusing on inviting ALL of our friends to watch it.  There's something powerful about hearing from real, dedicated, servants of the Lord. And it's important for everyone to have that chance!  But amidst all of this, was a lot of chaos. Good chaos, mostly. But chaos! - It felt like we needed to sprint to catch almost every bus and every tunnelbana we took.  - We had a long, two hour lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ In a Wayne's Coffee--and by the end of the lesson, the guy we were teaching said he would like to be baptized! We're not sure if he really knew what he was agreeing to, but I guess that's why following up with people is important. So we'll see!  - We gave an impromptu presentation about our religion to 6 high school students for about two h...
